Royals Win at Chicago, 4-3
|
The Kansas City Royals trumped the Chicago Cubs, 4-3, at Wrigley Field. Kansas City center fielder Ian Petrin was terrific. He was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Kansas City reliever Andres Munoz was the winner. His record is now 5-2. The losing pitcher was Josh Burke. Jon Cohen, credited with the save, is now 26 for 27 in save opportunities.
Petrin had a critical at-bat in the top of the seventh for Kansas City, coming through with a run-scoring single to put Kansas City in front, 4-3.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Kansas City manager . "It's usually not just one thing."
With the victory, the Royals upped their record to 70-37.
