Rangers Defeat Cardinals, 9-7
|
The rain came, as predicted, but the Texas Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals were able to complete their ballgame.
The Texas Rangers beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 9-7, at Busch Stadium. The Rangers got a fine performance from right fielder Chris Baldino, who was 3 for 6 with 2 doubles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. The Rangers now have a record of 37-70.
It could have been a different outcome for Texas, had it not been for Tony Salgado, the 27-year old shortstop . Salgado contributed a 2-run single in the top of the 11th inning to put Texas up, 9-7.
"That was your kind of game, if you like high drama," said Rangers manager Pat Woods.
