Blue Jays Net 4-1 Win Over Nationals
|
Behind the hitting of Tony Rangel, the Toronto Blue Jays stopped the Washington Nationals, 4-1. Rangel was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Blue Jays. Spencer Howard came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 4-0. Ryan Weathers earned the save for Toronto, his 4th of the year.
In the top of the sixth, Rangel put his team in front with his 25th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came against Dave Miller, made it 3-0, Toronto.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Rangel. "Just do my job."
Toronto has now won 4 in a row.
