Las Vegas Makes It 8 Straight with 3-1 Win
|
Las Vegas got a first-rate effort from pitcher Aaron Nola, who frustrated Los Angeles hitters en route to a 3-1 Rat Pack triumph at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Andrew Dalquist closed the door for Las Vegas, picking up his 23rd save of the year. Las Vegas now sits in second place in the American League West Division at 63-59.
The result might have been different for Las Vegas, had it not been for Nick Williams, the former first round draft pick . Williams stroked a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth inning to put Las Vegas up, 2-1. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Nola.
