Mets Lose, 7-4
|
The New Jersey Pioneers overcame a fine performance by New York center fielder Nate Toth to defeat the Mets, 7-4, at Citi Field. Toth went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2. Kolby Allard came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. Getting the save was Josh Nissen, his 30th.
Josiah Banks made an early impact for New Jersey when he stroked his 22nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came with two out in the top of the second, put the Pioneers on top, 5-0.
"Getting the win feels nice," said Banks. "More importantly, I had a good game."
New Jersey is now 69-59.
