Giants Top Reds, 6-5
|
Cincinnati designated hitter Chad Pitts had a good game, even if his team did not. The Reds dropped a 6-5 decision to San Francisco at Great American Ball Park. Pitts went 3-6 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Andrew Perez converted his 2nd save in 5 tries. The Giants move to 61-70 with the win, while the Reds drop to 67-64.
San Francisco used the clutch hitting of Cole Tucker to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the 13th inning to give the Giants the lead, 6-5. For the game, Tucker had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"We'll savor this win," Tucker told the San Francisco Bulletin, "then get ready for the next game."
