Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Tampa Bay Rays and New Jersey Pioneers.

In a low-scoring game between the Tampa Bay Rays and the New Jersey Pioneers, pitcher Dave Mace was masterful on the mound. The Tampa Bay right-hander spearheaded his team's 2-1 win. The loss makes New Jersey 73-62.

Had Randy Arozarena not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Arozarena hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Rays.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Arozarena said after the game.
