Twins Nip Diamondbacks, 5-4
|
The Arizona Diamondbacks got a superb performance from pitcher Jon Burress. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Minnesota. The Twins won the game, 5-4. Burress threw 5.2 innings allowing 4 runs. Xavier Wiseman notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 8-5. The Twins now have a record of 58-76.
Danny McKee was the walk-off hero for Minnesota. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Twins shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We'll enjoy this win," said McKee. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
