Reds Improve to 70-65 with 6-3 Win
|
Good production from second baseman Earl Lemay helped the Cincinnati Reds topple the Pittsburgh Pirates, 6-3. Lemay went 2-4 with a double for the Reds. Mike Stengel earned the save for Cincinnati, his 7th. The Pirates, now 51-84, have lost 4 straight.
D.J. White had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With one out and the bases loaded, the Cincinnati right fielder hit a 2-run single. That put the Reds in front, 6-3.
"Nice win for us," said Lemay. "Now we'll go after the next one."
