Angels Spill Red Sox, 5-1
|
Behind the hitting of Jonathan Nunez, the Los Angeles Angels stopped the Boston Red Sox, 5-1. Nunez went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Angels. Kai Mayes was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 22 of 27 save opportunities. The last-place Angels raised their record to 64-79.
Los Angeles took a 5-1 lead on Nunez's 6th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Josh Wolf in the top of the seventh, propelled Los Angeles to the win.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Nunez told the Los Angeles Herald.
