Nationals Tagged with 4-0 Loss
|
Zane O'Donnell never let the Nationals get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his cutter, to pitch the Orioles to a win, 4-0. O'Donnell went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 15-4. The first-place Orioles have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.
The Orioles benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the fifth. With Joel Thamann at bat and Baltimore leading 2-0, the Washington miscue allowed Baltimore to plate 2 and take the lead, 4-0.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Thamann.
