Mariners Post 2-1 Win Over Boston
|
Seattle turned a good effort from starter Clint Clark into a win over the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. The final score was 2-1. The winning pitcher was Clark, now 2-2. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. The save was credited to Josh Dunaway, his 2nd.
Seattle used a clutch hit from Gleyber Torres to snatch the win. The third baseman belted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mariners ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was huge.
"We found a way to get it done," Torres said.
Things have gone south in a hurry for the defending champion Mariners, who notched only their 6th win in 17 games.
