4-0 Loss Deepens New York Funk
|
New Jersey rode a good effort from starter Keaton Huntingford to beat the New York Mets at Citi Field. The final score was 4-0. Huntingford went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 14-6. The losses continue to mount for New York, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
In the top of the fourth, New Jersey right fielder Kevin Alcantara had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Alcantara stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 2-0, New Jersey. For the game, he went 1-5.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Huntingford told the New Jersey Daily.
