Giants Defeat Pirates, 11-6
|
The San Francisco Giants powered past the Pittsburgh Pirates, 11-6, at PNC Park. Rowdy Tellez went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3, to lead the charge. The winner was Andrew Perez in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Greg Janssen took the loss. The Pirates, now 4-13, continue their inauspicious start.
The result might have been different, had it not been for Daniel Adams, the San Francisco center fielder. Adams had a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Giants ahead, 8-6. For the game, Adams had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said San Francisco skipper .
