Blue Jays Suffer 5-3 Loss to Texas
|
Globe Life Field was the site of a competitive game between the Toronto Blue Jays and Texas Rangers.
The 5-3 Texas win over Toronto was due in large part to Chris Baldino. The Rangers right fielder went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The Rangers have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 7th win in 22 games.
The Rangers got a big at-bat from catcher Will Banfield. For the game, Banfield went 1 for 3 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Texas a 4-3 lead.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Banfield said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
