Recovery Slow for Padres Latrell Phifer Wednesday, August 14th , 2030 Yesterday San Diego shortstop Latrell Phifer sustained a setback in his recovery from a strained lat. The Padres medical staff told him it would be at least 5 days before he will be able to return to action. Phifer told reporters, "The healing process has gone extremely well. This is just a little hiccup and a little setback." Apparently Phifer worked a little too hard in a recent workout and caused more damage. His doctors have advised him to do only light exercise and give the injury time to heal. This year Phifer is batting .249 with no home runs and 25 RBIs. |
