Los Angeles's Howland Injured, Out of Lineup Monday, September 9th , 2030 The Los Angeles Angels learned that Bobby Howland is likely to be out for 5 weeks after he injured himself throwing a pitch in today's game against the Boston Red Sox. A round of tests by the team doctor revealed the injury to be a strained oblique. Upon hearing the diagnosis, the Los Angeles manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Bobby is back in action." This season Howland has worked 185.1 innings with 158 strikeouts en route to a 8-13 record and a 2.77 ERA. |
