League Gives Barba Suspension Thursday, May 30th , 2030 It got ugly on the field today in the RoughRiders and Ocelots game, when Alex Barba was ejected for arguing balls and strikes with the home plate umpire. Before he left the dugout area, Barba threw a few bats and a garbage can on the field toward home plate. League officials thought the Frisco catcher went too far and gave him a 2-game suspension. "Sometimes your emotions get the better of you and you just sort of lose control," Barba told reporters, "but that doesn't mean I was wrong, just out of control." Barba has collected 15 hits for the RoughRiders this year, 1 of them home runs. He has also netted 7 RBIs and scored 7 runs while batting .138. |
