Jesus Mercado Injured, Out for Season Thursday, July 11th , 2030 The season is finished for Jesus Mercado of the Akron RubberDucks. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The RubberDucks starting pitcher suffered a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Amarillo Sod Poodles. Team doctors said it would take at least 11 months to heal. In 5 starts this year Mercado has posted 1 win while suffering 3 losses. He has pitched 52.2 innings, allowed 47 hits, struck out 44 and has a 5.81 ERA. |
