RockHounds Move on to Round 2 Friday, September 27th , 2030 With a narrow 3-2 series win, the Midland RockHounds have eliminated the Corpus Christi Hooks and are Round 1 winners. "We tried not to look ahead to the Round 2, but we thought we'd be there for sure," said left fielder Jimmy Shartzer, who was named series MVP. Midland won the final game by a score of 3-1, wrapping it up at Momentum Bank Ballpark. Shartzer's big series saw him hit .375 with a .444 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Midland RockHounds will play against the Tulsa Drillers in the next round.
