Mejia on Fire: 5-for-5 for Wisconsin Friday, September 20th , 2030 Wisconsin third baseman Ivan Mejia went down swinging at Veterans Memorial Stadium today, knocking out 5 hits even as his Timber Rattlers fell, 6-5. "It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Mejia said after his 5-for-5 performance against the Cedar Rapids Kernels. "No offense meant to Cedar Rapids, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well." After the game, his manager elaborated on the third baseman's improvements, saying Mejia spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball. "That's what I'm trying to do," Mejia agreed. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it." Ivan Mejia singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 9th.
