Perea Rips Wisconsin for 5 Hits Monday, August 6th , 2029 Cedar Rapids catcher Joe Perea had a big day at Veterans Memorial Stadium today against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. The 22-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led the Kernels to a 21-3 triumph over Wisconsin. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Perea said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Joe Perea singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Tony Mendez in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
