A E News: The Offseason Begins
Friday, September 27th , 2030
The Low-A East offseason is like a river. It ebbs and flows toward a sea of uncertainty. The next few months, though, are where a superior general manager really makes his mark: contract negotiations, trade talks, club assessments, scouting and minor league evaluations. Now that the 2030 playoffs are in the books, it's time for GMs and their staff to get down to the business of creating next year's version of their team.

You may now vote for the league award winners, the option is available in the league menu.
Red Sox Win 2030 Round 2
Wednesday, September 25th , 2030
Sometimes the winner is the one who got the lucky bounces and the lucky calls, and sometimes the winner is just the one who played better.

It was the latter case in 2030, as the Salem Red Sox topped the Myrtle Beach Pelicans 10-5 tonight at Haley Toyota Field at Salem Memorial Ballpark to win the Round 2. It was the 1st title in franchise history.

"When you play for championships, you have to play better than the team in the other dugout. We did that in this series, and all year. Now we're the best team in baseball," said Salem center fielder Sean Groeger, who was named series MVP.

The Red Sox took the series 4-3. The new titleholders completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the Northern Division and a 86-36 record.

Salem manager grinned and nodded when asked to comment on Groeger's words.

"Sean said it best -- we played better than the other team," the skipper said.

Hometown officials announced they were already planning a "grand celebration" for the winners in the days to come.
