Farrell Hits for the Cycle
Wednesday, June 19th , 2030
Augusta's Chris Farrell accomplished what few others have done -- he hit for the cycle, collecting a single, double, triple and home run in the same game.
For the day, Farrell finished 4-for-5 with 2 runs batted in and 2 runs scored and helped the GreenJackets knock off the Charleston RiverDogs 7-1 at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.
"I didn't even know I was about to hit for the cycle until after," Farrell told reporters following the game. "One of the guys mentioned it when I got back to the dugout."
Chris Farrell doubled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Orlando Valenzuela in the 6th and hit an RBI triple in the 8th.
This season Farrell is swinging the bat at a .338 rate with 74 hits in 219 at-bats. To date he has hit 6 home runs, scored 31 runs and driven in 36.
