Mudcats Pitching Ravaged by Smith
Sunday, June 30th , 2030
Adam Smith put on a hitting clinic today as the Fredericksburg Nationals dumped the Carolina Mudcats 9-3 at Five County Stadium.
The Fredericksburg second baseman made Carolina defenders earn their pay, lashing Carolina pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Smith said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Adam Smith singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Mike Reade in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
In his stats this season, Smith has posted a batting average of .363 with 78 hits in 215 at-bats, 9 home runs and 33 RBIs. He has also scored 44 runs, walked 38 times and compiled a .463 OBP.
