Player of the Week: Augusta's Chica Monday, July 1st , 2030 Augusta GreenJackets catcher Willis Chica had a great time at the plate last week, running up some sensational numbers that no one else could match. Few people were surprised today when the Low-A East named him Player of the Week. Chica banged out 10 hits in 13 at-bats on the way to a .769 batting average. He also racked up 2 home runs, 3 RBIs and 5 runs scored. For the year Chica is batting .331 with 52 hits and 4 home runs. He has scored 22 times and driven in 24. |
