Big Hitters Get Named A SE Platinum Stick Award Winners

The winners of the Low-A Southeast Platinum Stick Award all had a "remarkably productive," year at the plate, according to the Low-A Southeast commissioner.

For excelling offensively, the 2030 winners are:

Alejo Grabs A SE Reliever of the Year Award

At the age of 23, Mario Alejo says he still has a lot to learn about life in Low-A Southeast.

But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2030 Low-A Southeast Reliever of the Year Award.

"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the
Hicksville, New York native said.

For the season, Alejo had 26 saves in 49 relief appearances, which totaled 49.1. He fanned 53 betters, while walking 17 and put up a record of 6-1 to go with his 2.01 ERA.

He received 6 first place votes out of a possible 10. Jesus Garibaldi of the Clearwater Threshers finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Jose Rivera of the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels finished third.
