Giants Win at Arizona, 4-1
|
San Francisco took on Arizona in front of a lively crowd.
Starting pitcher Hideki Nakashima took care of business, helping the San Francisco Giants stifle the Arizona Diamondbacks, 4-1. Nakashima picked up the win for San Francisco, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0.
San Francisco relied on the bat of Rafael Pérez to get the win. The first baseman ripped a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Giants ahead, 2-0. For the game, Pérez had 3 doubles and 1 triple in 5 at-bats.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Pérez said.
The win gives San Francisco a record of 14-15.
