Rangers Deal Indians 7-3 Defeat
|
The Rangers grabbed a win, 7-3, at Pickard Field, overcoming a fine effort from Cleveland pitcher Al Sackett. Sackett went 5 innings and allowed 3 runs. The win for the Rangers raised their record to 22-12.
Cary Mench, who is tied for 10th in the AL in bases on balls with 17, aided the Texas cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth. For the game, the right fielder went 2-4 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times.
"We're a talented bunch when we're playing well," said Mench. "I think we showed that here."
