Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Reds
The Houston Astros got a sterling performance from pitcher Ron Reith, but the Cincinnati Reds still prevailed, 5-1. Reith threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball. The win gives Cincinnati a season record of 23-15.

Cincinnati needed the clutch hitting of Javier Gómez to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Reds on top, 5-1. For the game, Gómez had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Gómez told the Cincinnati News.
