Braves Score Late to Upend Nationals, 5-2
|
Braves center fielder Ramón Sánchez put his stamp on his team's 5-2 win over the Washington Nationals. Sánchez was 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 runs for Atlanta in the contest. Atlanta reliever Carl Johnson was the winner. His record is now 6-3. Kelly Núñez took the loss. Doug Rollins was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 34 of 37 save opportunities.
Hung Tse delivered for Atlanta in the bottom of the eighth. His 3-run home run off Washington pitcher Kelly Núñez put Atlanta in front, 5-2.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Sánchez.
Atlanta is now 73-81, while Washington is 82-71.
