New York and Los Angeles duked it out and the Yankees came out victorious.
Getting a good performance from designated hitter Wayne Dorsett, the New York Yankees defeated the Los Angeles Angels, 10-7. Dorsett was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Yankees. New York reliever Robin King was credited with the win, to go to 2-1. Kiyonaga Yamasaki took the loss for Los Angeles. Guillermo Rodríguez recorded his 12th save for New York.
One of the biggest contributors for New York was left fielder Guy Donnelly. In the top of the second, with the bases loaded, Donnelly got a 2-2 fastball and hit a 2-run single. That put the Yankees on top, 6-0.
"It makes it a little nicer in the clubhouse when we win," said Donnelly. "It eases the tension."
The Yankees sit in last place in the American League Eastern Division with a record of 24-24.
