Reds Improve to 40-26 with 6-1 Win
|
The first-place Cincinnati Reds took on the Minnesota Twins in front of a spirited crowd.
Cincinnati Reds starter Ricky Bray worked his magic, as he helped his team defeat the Minnesota Twins, 6-1. The winner in relief was Nick Thomas. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. He now owns a record of 2-0.
Rubén Reyes, who led the NL in extra base hits with 86 in 2069, came through for Cincinnati with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the seventh. The designated hitter went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 4 runs batted in.
"We had a nice day," said Cincinnati skipper Sean Bain.
Minnesota has now lost 4 straight.
