The Houston Astros racked up a win at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, bumping off the Texas Rangers, 6-4. Tokutomi Nakayama, who started for Houston, pitched effectively for his team. Houston reliever Skip West picked up the win, raising his record to 3-0. Michael Peterson was tagged with the loss. Cecil Pearce picked up the save for Houston, his 1st of the year.

Houston needed the clutch hitting of Jin Daikawa to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Astros on top, 6-4. For the game, Daikawa had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Exciting game to play in," said Daikawa. "Getting the win makes it even better."

With the win, Houston upped its record to 40-31.
