Giants Defeat White Sox, 6-5
|
Chicago second baseman Bernardo López was sensational. He slugged 2 home runs, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. San Francisco beat the White Sox, 6-5. Juan Carlos Muñóz earned his 20th save in 22 tries. The win gives San Francisco a season record of 46-41.
San Francisco used the clutch hitting of Rex Tolmie to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to give the Giants the lead, 6-5. For the game, Tolmie had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"The game of baseball will test you," said Tim Ackley, the San Francisco skipper. "This one tested us."
