Texas Rangers starter Joe Wheeler turned in an exceptional performance against the Montreal Expos at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, resulting in a Texas win, 6-2. A.J Klein earned his 29th save in 31 chances. Texas improves to 73-32 with the win. They lead their division by 13½ games.

Anadhrishya Venktesh dealt the Expos a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with the bases loaded and Texas leading 1-0, Venktesh, who led the AL in doubles with 51 in 2059, hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Venktesh told the Texas Today.
