Despite a great performance by Houston right fielder Trevor Burt, the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Astros by the score of 4-2 at Minute Maid Park. Burt went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. José Hernández, now 4-7, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Getting the save was Lou Markakis, his 17th.

Toronto needed the clutch hitting of John Alcorn to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Blue Jays on top, 4-2. For the game, Alcorn had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Our team showed some resilience," said Alcorn.

The third-place Blue Jays improved to 55-65.
