Angels Come Up Short at Chicago, 4-3
|
Chicago beat Los Angeles on the strength of starter Luis Montero's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. In 6.1 innings, Montero surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. Earning the save was Carlos Sánchez. He's now cashed in 18 of 21 save opportunities.
George Moore went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk for Chicago. The slugging first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Bob Simmons Jr.. It was his 56th walk of the season.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Moore said.
