Carolina Gets 5-1 Win
|
Behind a fine performance from Santiago Barbosa, the Carolina Warhounds knocked off the Milwaukee Brewers, 5-1. Barbosa went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Warhounds. Jim Ferrer earned the win to go to 3-2. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, with 4 walks and 5 strikeouts in 5 innings of work. Carolina, at 73-79, occupies second place in the National League Southern Division.
John Pruitt, the 21-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Pruitt contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the first inning to put Carolina up, 3-0.
