Gómez Leads Reds to Win
|
The Cincinnati Reds knocked off the Milwaukee Brewers by the score of 8-6. Javier Gómez provided some pop, going 2-for-2 with 1 home run. Ernesto Zavala earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 8-5. Tim Crawford collected save number 3.
Carlos Flores chipped in for Cincinnati with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 runs batted in.
"This is not a one-man show," said Gómez. "A lot of the guys stepped up."
