Nationals Losing Streak at 5 After Extra-Inning Loss to Marlins
|
Washington right fielder Kyle Lynch had a good game, even if his team did not. The Nationals dropped a 6-5 decision to Miami at Jose Fernandez Park. Lynch was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Miami reliever John Perry picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Ramiro Benavidez absorbed the loss. The win puts the Marlins at 72-88, while the Nationals drop to 101-59.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Miami center fielder Marcos Enriquer, facing Ramiro Benavidez, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Marlins the 6-5 win.
In postgame comments, Enriquer said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
