King and Howard Dealt Monday, June 22nd , 2071 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Marlins announced today the acquisition of 27-year old CF Steve Howard and 28-year old 3B Roger McElroy from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for 24-year old minor league 2B Henry Roach and 27-year old minor league RF Paul King. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Marlins, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." Presently King is hitting .173 with 3 home runs and 8 RBIs. He has played in 21 games and scored 8 times. In his season totals, Howard has 2 home runs, .281 BA, .342 OBP, 13 RBIs and 18 runs scored. He has played in 35 games. |
