Beavers Schmidt to Miss Year Monday, August 18th , 2070 Josh Schmidt will soon find out from his doctors if his season will continue. The first diagnosis was not too positive and indicated the Portland closer could miss the remainder of the year. Schmidt was injured while throwing a pitch in the Beavers-Rainiers clash at Cheney Stadium recently. Doctors said he has shoulder inflammation and would be out a minimum of 5 months. This season, in 12 relief appearances, Schmidt has rung up 6 saves. He has 9 strikeouts and 9 walks in 10.2 innings while registering a 5.06 ERA and a 1-0 won-lost record. Opposing teams have hit .295 against him. |
