Elías Smacks 5 Hits for Cubs Saturday, May 2nd , 2071 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Nolan Elías is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the New Orleans Zephyrs at Zephyr Field today. The monster effort from the 24-year-old right fielder helped the Iowa Cubs take the win, 15-1. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Zephyrs manager . "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Nolan Elías singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Pedro Trujillo in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th. Elías is hitting .193 in 2071 with 5 RBIs and 1 home run. |
