Díaz Sizzles -- Smokes Volcanoes for 5 Hits Monday, June 29th , 2071 Félix Díaz of the Wichita Warhawks had a big day with the bat at Volcanoes Stadium today as he bashed out hit after hit after hit against the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes. Nevertheless, his big day at the plate couldn't secure the win for the Warhawks, who fell 11-9. "Guys, it's just one game in a long season -- I hit it hard and found some holes today, and bingo, 5 hits in 5 at-bats," a visibly unhappy Díaz said later. "They don't really mean anything at this point." At the end of the day, Díaz had collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats and a small mention in the record book, but it was the final score that was on his mind. Félix Díaz singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, tripled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. Díaz is currently batting .297 with 4 home runs, 29 RBIs and 32 runs scored. He has 70 hits in 236 at-bats. |
