Big Day with Bat: Marino 5-for-6 Sunday, June 15th , 2070 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Héctor Marino today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Memorial Stadium and paced the Hawks to a 16-1 win over the NWL Twins. After his dynamite batting performance, the Boise center fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Héctor Marino singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and struck out in the 7th. This year Marino has hit at a .500 clip with 22 RBIs, 7 home runs and 25 runs scored. |
