Tonga Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 2-1
The Tonga Kings have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Papeete Black Pearls, winning 6-3 at Ha'amonga 'a Maui Park today. Kings left fielder Yu-eh Lee was named player of the game after he was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The win cuts the deficit facing the Kings to 2-1 in the best-of-7 League Cup.

The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fifth when Lee, who won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2023, hit a 2-run double. It propelled the Kings into the lead, 4-2.

Lee called the win "a collective effort."

Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow at Ha'amonga 'a Maui Park in Nukualofa. The scheduled starters for the game are Mika Afatia for the Papeete Black Pearls and Kevin Franciscus for the the Tonga Kings.
