Flohr Lights Out in Shutout Win
Saturday, July 29th, 2034
In an outstanding outing, Avarua Kiore starter Raumatahi Flohr tamed the Tonga Kings with a 4-hit shutout at Ha'amonga 'a Maui Park today. The Avarua hurler went the distance, finishing with 15 strikeouts and 4 walks in the 10-0 win.

"He had a lot of first-pitch strikes and kept us off balance with a lot of off-speed stuff," according to Tonga manager Steve Meyers. "We just didn't get too many balls squared up today."

Checking out his stats for the season, Flohr has notched 6 wins and 3 losses in 13 starts, 5.00 ERA and struck out 112 batters in 81 innings.

Nautilus Lose Afia for Season
Friday, July 28th, 2034
The doctors have spoken and Douglas Afia of the Samoa Nautilus didn't like what he heard. The 30-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Afia sustained his season-ending injury during the Suva Red Sox game yesterday at Albert Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Samoa medical staff reported Afia had a torn labrum and would be absent from the lineup for at least 5 months.

Currently Afia has a 0-1 won-lost record in 0 starts with a 4.40 ERA. He also has 21 strikeouts in 14.1 innings.
Banga Sharp in Shutout
Thursday, July 27th, 2034
All went well for Joe Banga of the Tafuna Clippers as he pitched his team to a 7-0 shutout victory over the Papeete Black Pearls, limiting them to 3 hits. In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Banga on the day.

"Joe's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy," said Clippers manager Jay A. "He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."

In the contest, the Tafuna right-hander rang up 7 and surrendered 2 walks.

"He didn't give us any second chances," said Black Pearls manager Steve Trent. "It's a guessing game with him and today we were always guessing wrong."

Checking out his stats for the year, Banga has racked up 5 wins and 5 losses in 13 starts, 4.73 ERA and struck out 83 batters in 91.1 innings.
