Almost There: Papeete On Cusp of LS Triumph After 11-5 Win
Riding the 2-hit performance of center fielder Lucien Fauvel, the Papeete Black Pearls got a road win against the Tonga Kings, 11-5, in Game 4 of the League Cup today. Fauvel was 2-3 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Black Pearls, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 1.

Mitchell Matea swatted a grand slam home run for Papeete in the top of the first. The right fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 5.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Matea. "And not try to do too much."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ha'amonga 'a Maui Park. Slated to start are Kane Indu for Papeete and Simon Pelletier for Tonga.
