Almost There: Tafuna On Cusp of Maui Shield Triumph After 9-1 Win
Riding the 3-hit performance of first baseman Max David, the Tafuna Clippers got a road win against the Lae Kumuls, 9-1, in Game 4 of the Maui Shield today. David hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 5 for the Clippers, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 1.

Bertrand Tasere, the former first round draft pick , had a direct impact on the outcome. Tasere contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the third inning to put Tafuna up, 1-0.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," David told the Tafuna Gazette.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Rainforest Park in Lae.
